I really like that  2o2.  Nice work!

Now if only MCD could make their shades out of THIS (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KHSdObeUdxI) stuff.

David,

I love what you have done to customize your motorhome.    The  wooden valances add such a quality  look to the windows.   They make the living and kitchen area look even more homey and relaxing.

I so admire your woodworking talent.  Thanks for posting the pictures.

Gail

Hello Gail,

Our family is looking forward to spending Christmas vacation in Florida again this year. I remember emailing you last year on our way home from Chokoloskee Island to ask you about your 2910 floor plan, thanks again for your help.

We are really enjoying our 2910 we picked it up in March and already have 15,000 miles on it. The bedroom is a great layout and there is plenty of room to get dressed, it's nice to be able to section the living area off from the bedroom and bath.

I like the way the wood valances turned out especially with the LED lighting to accent the frames. I'm planning to replace the MCD shades in those windows with Stitchbond Buff Tan Day night pleated shades. I think the fabric in the day night pleated shades will soften all the extra wood.

The MCD shades work great but I think the new window frames make the white MCD shades look too commercial, as Ron implied like a movie screen :)

Happy Thanksgiving!
Dave

Hey Dave,

Gail has a 2100. We are the ones with the 2910 that you emailed on the way home!

I love those wood valances with the LED Lights. Did you make them or have them made for you?

Judi,

I'm so sorry I thought about it after I posted the response!!

Thanks again for all your help, we probably would not have our 2910 without your input.

I distinctly remember driving home from Florida last year and thinking we were not too far from you :)

My neighbor makes Kitchen Cabinets so trading Ice Cream and Cheese with him for the Hickory made the project affordable. I have a small wood shop and enjoy tinkering as a hobby......... I made the valances. I purchased the LED light kits on Amazon for about $16.00 a window.

Thank you again,
Dave

Hi Dave,
Those look great!  How did you wire the light kits in?

Hello John,

It was fairly easy to wire the lights. There is a receptacle for the Oven directly above the valance behind a removable panel in the overhead cabinet. For the valance above the table and chairs I routed the wire behind the DVD player and used the receptacle in the front passenger side cabinet.

The only thing that is not ideal is that the receptacle for the oven does not work on the inverter. Although I had to purchase two LED light kits the remotes that came with them work both sets of lights which is great.
