We received notification that there is a Class Action against Norcold. It pertains to the fridge--our Model N6 manufactured from January 2009 to December 2013. The Class Action also includes the N8 and the 1200 Series.
The problem is in the cooling unit. There is a safety related defect in the cooling unit. If you observe yellow or green residue at the cooling unit, immediately turn off the unit.
The website is WWW. NorcoldClassAction.Com. To join the Class Action, if you have one of these units, you must join by Aug. 26, 2016. You can submit a claim online.

When you say at the cooling unit are you talking about the fins inside the fridge?

George, did you have visible leakage or just verified your model was included in the suit? I found this article by the RV Doctor for those looking to see how their refrigerator works - there are some great photos showing cut away tubing and typical problems: http://www.rvdoctor.com/2001/02/rv-absorption-refrigeration-cooling.html
We'll be pulling the exterior panel off the refrigerator to check for leaks on ours and will take pictures to post. I don't know yet how many of our coils are hidden in insulation.

Holly,
We have no leakage at this point. We wanted to let anyone know, who maybe did not know, of this possible problem. As a part of the claim, we now have a 3 year extended warranty for this. We will be checking the fridge more often now for that yellow/green powdered substance.
The only problem that we ever had was the propane ignition. The igniter was not calibrated correctly. Oh yeah, and the door falling off!!!!

George,
Thank you for this valuable info. We will check out the website. Our refrigerator works perfectly but it would be beneficial to have the 3yr. extended warranty should we experience the leaking. Will take the panel off today and check it out.
