I have 2010 2551 and have a auxiliary 12 volt plug in that I use for my GPS. Having problems with it. Below this plug is the cigarette/cigar lighter which I don't use. I have checked my Ford Manual and it does not list the extra 12 volt plug. Don't know what watt fuse it takes and in what slot of the fuse panel. Does anyone have the same set up and what can you help me with to make it work. I have always had problems with this plug in. The cigarette lighter works ok. Also the plug in above the passenger side in the cabinet also does not work.????
I rely on these auxiliary plug ins for my GPS. Very frustrating ....Tried to attach pics but my file is too large and don't know how to reduce it.( not computer savvy). :help

Your owners manual should list which fuse and it is and what type of fuse.
In my 2014 PC (which is built on a 2013 Ford E450) the fuse box is is under the dash by the floor between the drivers side door and brake pedal. The fuse for my aux outlet is a 20 amp (type A1S) and is in slot #72.

You may find that the fuse is fine.
One time the outlet itself failed but I was able to get a new one at an auto parts store and replace it.
If a fuse doesn't do it, get a voltmeter and try to debug and/or replace. Hope for just a fuse.

thanks, I will check it out but there is noting listed as auxiliary. Manual doesn't even show a pic of it. I get down to pole barn and look again.

I know where the fuse box is and my son was checking out the manual too which lists the fuses and it only listed the cigarette/cigar outlet/plug in that's why I am inquiring. we did replace the 20amp fuse for the cigar outlet. that was blown. He put in a meter in the plug in auxiliary and got nothing. I will check slot 72. thanks

Working with a 2008 Ford Manual and the fuses only go up to #1-to 44 under the passenger compartment panel description. High current fuses 1-27 & A-K 15 amp to 60 amp. So hopefully someone will have the same set up. Thanks again.

On our first PC 2350 we had the same problem. I took it to a Ford dealer for service and asked them to check out. They found that the fuse had not been installed. They showed me my manual listing the fuses. I read down the list until I got to the lighter. I needed to read on down the list to near the bottom to find the aux. fuse.

I don't know about other areas of the country, but around here our Ford dealers (Fairfield, Richmond, Walnut Creek, California) will help with anything we throw at them....and we have. The parts departments know one heck of a lot and aren't shy about sharing.

As I recall with our 2007 E350 chassis, the 12V outlet higher up, the one with the square boot/cover, is a low wattage outlet. Using the cigarette lighter or other high power device in that upper outlet will blow it's fuse. The lower outlet handles much more power as observed by much much (much) heavier gauge wires to it. I tapped into the lower outlet to power the extra 12V outlets I installed in the cup holder area.
frecklestweety, If you are at your wits-end trying to find the blown fuse for the dash board square-covered 12V outlet, one by one, remove, inspect, and re-insert each fuse until you find the one that is broken inside. I suspect it has a lower number like 10 or less. Do the same in back for your PC-installed 12V outlet above the passenger seat. I wonder if your GPS is a power hog which is blowing the low amp fuses. I would dedicate it's use to the lower cigarette lighter which offers much more power, even though it is in your way of shifting gears. It is for that very reason why I added the two extra outlets into the front of the cup holder unit. I wanted the wires away from the gear shift lever and off the surface of the cup holder.
Here are the outlets in discussion seen on our rig. You can also see the two extra outlets I added in the cup holder.
