Title: Sold and Sad
Post by: GoPhoenix on September 30, 2015, 10:08:38 am
Sold our beloved Phoenix Cruiser – it’s now on its way to Idaho!  Been camping/RVing for 37 years: tent; EZ Ryder; Mallard Sprinter; Fleetwood Southwind; 2008 Phoenix Cruiser; 2011 Phoenix Cruiser (pics of each).  Been in 49 states by motorhome and had wonderful life RVing.  Age and health have ended it but lots of great memories.

I can identify.   Been camping/rving for 45 years starting in a tent, pop-up, Class B motorhome, and I think finally, the  PC    We look back at all our pictures and can't believe all we've done and seen.   We have been very fortunate and are so grateful.    Take care.

That is a great tribute GoPhoenix.  May God bless the two of you in your next chapter here on this earth.  Make the best of it.  Press on.

If I may be so bold to suggest you give ballroom dance lessons a stab.

Sad to hear this.  Know that our travel time is reaching its limit as well.  Good luck and please keep sharing your wisdom for us on the forum!

I too have enjoyed your posts. With all your years of travel you must have a wealth of information in your head to go along with those wonderful memories. Perhaps you can draw on that knowledge from time to time and tell us where to go... but in a good way.

I wish you well with all you do.

We understand the why but it is a sad day when you see your RV/boat etc. leave. Best wishes to you both.

May I ask--how did you sell the PC? RVTrader, through Amiee's post on the Forum or some other way?

I'll begin by saying thank you for the guidance and information that you given here on the Forum. So many of us learned from you and are grateful for the support.
Seven years ago my wife and I began attending the annual Phoenix Rallies, we met so many wonderful people through Phoenix. But like yourself many of them have come to that time in life that they can no longer travel. It was so noticeable that many of the regulars were absent this year, for others it would be their last rally.
Kermit Fisher not only created a great product, but also brought so many folks together.

I wish you well, and thanks again.

Had it listed on several sites, but the posting here on the forum resulted in the sale.  Says he liked all the great things owners said about their PC; heard about it because his neighbor was buying a new one from the factory.  Had 30 responses from all listings, five from this forum.  Had some real doozies, and at least three fairly obvious scams: buy it now at full price, will arrange for pickup, delete all listings, "I am your most desirable buyer," etc.  One claimed to be buying for his son and would be shipping it to Valencia, Spain.  It's real trip selling yourself.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words.  We’re already missing our Phoenix, beautiful camping in southern Ohio and Kentucky in the fall.  Should add that the cash buyers flew into the Dayton, OH airport to pick up our PC and drive it back to its new home Idaho!  A really big downsize from a Country Coach – three previous diesel pushers.  Said he was looking for the same quality.   2o2
