Has any one travel on I95 recently? I am interest in the condition of the road. Several years ago I traveled on it and it was a mightmare in need of major repair. I will be traveling from New York to Mystic, Ct and back.

I'm originally from Connecticut and historically I95 is much better towards the end of summer rather than spring or early summer. They do a lot of work to correct winter-induced problems and they don't usually become apparent until late August or early September.
Doesn't answer your question, and if anyone has recent info I'd also like to know.

Tom,
Depending on where your starting from, I84 may be an option, although at the wrong time of day Hartford can be a bear. We travel south several times a year and always go I84 to I81. There is always construction in different areas bu the Roads are generally good and the toll over the Hudson at Newburgh is a fraction of the cost for the bridges south.

((hug)),
On our way North we go over the Newburgh Bridge, through NY into Ct. on Rt. 84 and then 691 to Middletown. At Middletown we take RT.9 South which deposits you on 95 at Old Saybrook.
