I've tried everyday at 10 am to reserve an available site in the January time period
The sites show as available at 10:00:00 but by 10:00:01 the sites are gone.
How do you guys ever get a camp site there.
I know a bunch of PC Cruiser members stay there. What is your trick?

Prayer and Luck.
We usually get in but not always the dates we want. You need to be diligent and try everyday. The other thing to do is look everyday for cancellations. We have friends that do not make reservations and somehow always find a site. Also, you cannot get in if calling the call center because the sites are gone so fast.
We are booked for 14 days beginning 1/12. Hope to see you there. If you're in the area stop by.

So you did it by internet at 10 AM and actually got a site?
Everyday at least 2-3 sites are available in 6 months from day's date, I go by the US official time clock but when I click either I'm 1 second early or then site is gone. Getting frustrated.
Can't believe I can't hit at least once.

John,
Yes, we do it online. I use the clock on my Verizon phone. Sometimes we get in, sometimes we do not. It all depends on how many people are going for the sites. Also, at WP go for the higher number sites. People tend to like the lower number sites especially sites 7 - 11, so we tend to go for sites in the 20s.
Remember, look for cancellations, especially as it gets closer to the date.
I just got 8 days at Highlands Hammock state park for the end of January. Someone must have cancelled. It is about 70 miles north of WP.

What is WP?
Guess I'm kind of slow.

Janey,
WP is WP Franklin, the COE park in Alva, FL. Very nice, with 30 sites, water and electric.

After trying every day for two weeks, I finally got the timing down and got a site starting 1/30/16. (cheer)

John,
Yeah!!!! Congrats. Did you get site 8? I say that since it is the only site that was taken for two weeks today. Very, very nice site.
We leave WP 1/26 so will not see you. Hope to be back there at the end of Feb.
Enjoy

That's the one we got.
We hope to be staying in the Hillsborough County parks the few weeks before.
We have spent the last 7 years in Mexico over the winter but this year we are trying FL again. I did a Mexican Blog so I decided to do a FL blog also.

John,
If you can get a site, Myakka River State Park--especially in the new section with water, electric and sewer--is a very nice park with lots to do and it is very close to Sarasota.
We try to go there once a year even though it is only about 35 miles from home.
Great scenery, kayaking(with lots of gators around), airboats, biking, birding.

Judi,
Have you ever been to Highlands Hammock State Park? It is about 70 miles from WP.

Love Myakka but can never get a site, campground sells out before we can make plans.
Here are two pictures from last time we were there.
