Title: NO A/C AND ERROR #2 MESSAGE--- AS WELL AS THE FIX
Post by: Joseph on June 20, 2015, 05:28:20 pm
It's a bit warm where I live, asits been running 114 to 116 all week. Went to the Rv the other day, cranked up the gen and the AC would not start. The thermostat flashed ER2. I looked through the manual and error messages were listed for 1, 3,4 and 5 but nothing for an error 2 message.

The only thing we could think of was it being fairly warm was causing the issue. We took a large zip lock bag, filled it with ice and held it against the thermostat. It took a good 10 minutes but the error#2 message went away and the AC unit started up and worked fine after that.

So just an FYI for anyone who travels in the warmer climates like the Low desert I live in should this ever happen to you. It's an easy fix and its not in the manual.

I wonder if this is a high temperature safety switch.  I know my home a/c heat pump has a sensor that reads the ambient temperature of air flowing through the handler.  It shuts down if the temperature hits 140 degrees.  The idea is if your home is on fire, you don't want to be fanning the flames with your a/c.  Just a thought ....
