Title: Scenic Highway 12 - Utah
Post by: bobkbusch on June 01, 2015, 09:16:54 am
On Utah Scenic Highway 12 between Bryce Canyon and Capitol Reef National Parks.  Beautiful drive, but there are plenty of 8 and 10 percent grades on a very curvy road.  My Garmin RV GPS wouldn't route me this way unless I changed it to the automobile profile.

There are so many beautiful roads in our country.  It is this type of road that I really enjoy our suspension upgrades so I can enjoy the scenery rather than concentrate on the double yellow line.

Thank You for sharing!

We drove some of the same sections of Highway 12 again today in our Jeep to explore the surrounding area.  I didn't realize there were also a few 14 percent grades near the "hogback" or narrowest section!  I was concentrating more on the solid white line to my right than the double yellow!   :)  Now I know why my Garmin RV GPS didn't want to route me this way!

Don't feel bad.  I did route 12 on my motorcycle and when I got to the narrowest section, I did not look at anything but the white line either.  I didn't realize I could hold my breath for 20 minutes!  If that section was pretty, no way I knew it.
