After bopping around town the other day I looked up to find my TV sagging down on the right side and sticking out from its normal flush position. I looked in the cabinet on the right side and the three mounting screws were almost all the way out (picture included). The left side and the screws over there were fine, although now I worry they may have been stressed by holding up the TV all by themselves while I was driving. I emailed Kermit and asked if vibration could have caused that to happen. He said he's never heard of it happening and doesn't think vibration did it but also doesn't have any idea what caused it.
Just putting this up on the forum so that people maybe think once in a while to peak into those cabinets and check those screws. They are far enough into the corner that you have to actually look for them or feel them. Better safe than sorry... and that could have been a really painful sorry.

Oh my gosh Carol, since our PCs were picked up in the same month, I had to immediately run out and look in my cabinets...and all screws in place, thank goodness. I hope you were able to get yours re-secured. Thanks so much for the heads up.

That looks like the screws were started before holding the TV up into place, then the screws are tightened. I guess that side was missed. I would tighten them and keep an eye on them, but don't worry to much.

I agree with Tom. It appears the assembly process was never completed.

Thanks, Ann, and yes I got them secured. Haven't driven again yet, but I expect they will hold. I agree with Tom and Ron that it looks like they were not screwed in all the way during construction. Which I find unsettling. Hopefully there aren't any more undone screws hiding where I can't see them!

An annual 30 minute inspection with a square tip driver is a good idea for all rigs, new and used. What is tight one year can get loose another.
We learned that our microwave oven frame screws had come loose. There was some serious rattling going on back there two years ago of which I was able to identify only with my wife driving and me listening around. They looked tight but were very loose. I tightened them and all has been good since.
Don't over-tighten those square-tip wood screws for they will strip. Then you have more work.
Then there are the entry door screws.....their own issue I outlined HERE (http://forum.phoenixusarv.com/index.php/topic,77.0.html) some years ago.
Also the B+ front cap had some bad creaking I was able to resolve via the phone doctor Kermit. That involved adding screws.

Agree with Tom. That wasn't any vibration induced problem. It was missed at the factory...
