Title: 3100 info
Post by: kemer on February 24, 2015, 09:52:35 am
Can someone tell me approx. what the Ford 450 gets for gas mileage?  Would probably tow a small Pontiac vibe with it.  Thanks

About 8 mpg maybe a little more or a little less depending on conditions and you way of driving.

TomH is on the money...between 8-9 for the most part.  If you want to do 55 MPH MPG might go up some.  3100 is a very nice model that is perfect for a couple.   Good luck.

I get about 9 mpg towing a Chevy HHR. Eked out 10 mpg, not towing, flat terrain.  Rarely go over 55 mph.

Same for me towing a ford focus. I did add a 5 Star Tuner and it works great, didn't add any gas mileage, but help keep the transmission lock in longer and make the trip a lot better

Towing a Ford Focus on mostly state and county roads, we normally average 9.4 to 9.8 MPG. When we are forced to run Interstates, we rarely exceed 55 MPH.
Driving Interstates gets you past the country. Driving state and county roads gets you in the country.
