Title: Sling Box
Post by: bgolden on November 08, 2014, 03:33:02 pm
I have been thinking about buying a Sling Box in order to watch my home tv while on the road.  Just wondering if anyone is using the Sling Box, and would it be worth buying.  I know that needs a wifi connection.

What kind of TV access would you be getting from home?  Would it be cable service or satellite TV?  We put our cable (Internet) service on vacation hold when we travel and we bring our satellite service with us.  This box looks very interesting.  Would you need unlimited wifi to take full advantage of it?

Barry, we're on cable. After posting this question in other RV forums I received some negative reviews.  The sling box would rely on good wifi at the campgrounds. My reason for wanting this was mostly for watching sports.  We don't use our television all that much. If I were to use my smart phone hotspot it would kill the data usage.  Most of the Dish subscribers are using the Hopper with good results.
