Since I am a klutze when backing at times, I build a rear bumper. Its mounted high enough to clear the rear receiver. Bumper is made of 3 one inch red oak laminated together about 4" high, mounted on both ends of the receiver using drop hitches and appropriate laminated oak blocks to give it the proper placement.
I know this isn't a project for everyone since I'm a woodworker, but thought I would share as the material could as well be steel.

Denny,
I think you just got started. You should consider continuing on till your PC is fully woodyfied like this one. :)

In all seriousness, I really like your work but would have painted the bumper to match the full body paint to blend in rather then stand out. But that is just my personal taste.

Yes Ron know what your saying, but the color is actually closer to the body color. Pic is a bit off. But like your pic and comment!

Awesome totally woodworked rig! Ya think Kermit would take on a project like that? Let's see....I'd be worried about termites, forest fires and weekend warriors looking for some extra kindling for the campfire. Actually, I've always regretted not becoming a carpenter. Wood rocks!

:)☺☺ Mike. Yep wood does rock. Especially nice looking stuff like oak. Guess another reason I just couldn't bear myself to paint it.
