Title: Awning Support
Post by: bowtorc on January 19, 2014, 06:22:08 pm
I have a full length electric awning on our 2910D that is sagging in the center.  I cannot find any type of support for the curved side wall .. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Call the factory. Our 2013 2552 has a center support on the side wall. We didn't order so it must be something they started to install at some point. It might be from Dometic but I don't really know. It was just there. You can see it in the pictures of the new 2552's on the inventory page. I'm sure you can order through Phoenix or they can tell you where to order one.

Go here: http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/dometic-awning-cradle-support/10924

Check with Carol at the factory, it might be cheaper from her.

Carol is right on the ball for sure!  The price that she quoted me for my 2012 was considerably more compared to Campers World and the link above.  I can not believe there is any difference between  CW's and the one she secured but I guess one will find out.   thanks

If they didn't install the support at the factory, I would want to know if the backing for the bolts is present. I would get the mounting location from Carol also. Lot of weight on that bracket at least on the longer awnings. Just a thought!

The Domectic support comes with a small aluminum palte that can be utilized to spread the pressure out some if center does not land directly on one of the studs.  I have yet to put it on yet, wiaiting for warmer weather.  You are suppose to place in center, touching the awaining and then raise it 1/4" before screwing it in with the two supplied cap screws.   My awning is really not sagging to much but I can see how it could start to sag over time.   ths.
