Title: Paint on the arms of adjustable side mirrors

We own a 2011 PC, the 2400. I'm wondering if anyone is having the same problem that we've experienced with the paint on the arms of our adjustable side mirrors. The white paint started to chip off, and now after about a year is quite unsightly. Each time we wash the vehicle, a little more paint comes off.  Both mirrors have the same flaking, but one is much worse.

Hi -- no solution for you but we are interested in hearing remedies as well. We are having paint peeling on the "front roof" portion of our 2551, near the sat dish and TV antenna. Any ideas how to fix it?

same problem,,, using a razor blade and small piece of sandpaper,  get rid of the peeling parts very carefully to the edges where the paint is holding ok,,, carefully sand the bare spots and the edges of the good paint,,, take some acrylic touch up paint I would suggest white haha paint, in the area, let dry and do 2/3 coats,,, take a bottle of touch up clear coat and cover the newly painted area,, again 2/3 coats,,,   I f the area is large that say a silver dollar you might have to go tape and spray paint, you would then need to mask the area is you use spray paint of course if your going to use spray, go ahead and buy a primer base to spray on first,,,
   When I fixed mind I notice that the primer on the mirror arms was bad I did about 50cent size repair  has held up find.. I think these mirrors are an addition to the unit, so not made by ford

The adjustable mirrors are add-ons. When we contacted the manufacturer, they agreed to replace the mirrors with new ones for $325 (installed at our expense). We thought that was a little pricey.

I thought they were add-ons,,, they just did not do a good job on the arms.  It will be interesting to see if others have had the same problem,  like I said I did, never mentioned it, just fixed it.

Hi Linda,

    On Tuesday you should call Carol at the Phoenix factory and tell her about your problem. I will bet she will take good care of you. She has always helped me when I called her. She is normally there between 6:00 am and 2:30 pm ET. You might just be amazed. 2o2
