Replaced the hand flush toilet in our Beast with a step flusher. Here's the link.

This should have been a pretty easy project, but I made it a little difficult, haha.

Hey Sparky,
First let me say you did a nice job on both the toilet and the microwave and posting your modifcations. One question I have is from the toilet write up, you talked about all the sweat and wiping it up. In the microwave write up you state you have 30 amp on the house. So why didn't you have the a/c on druing the installs? :cool
Another small point I have is that you don't need to double post your write up as the main page shows us what post are new, making it hard to miss you posts. When on a slow campground wifi the less post the better. just a small point. :)

thks tom,,, did not turn on the AC,, in and out so much just did not want to mess with it,,, I double post since the general discussion is where most people read and I have been talking about summer projects last couple of weeks,,, eventually summer projects will disappear ,, I also put it on the tips... I think a lot of people especially newbies read all those tips.. I tell new people to read them all the time,,, I know I did when I first joined the group...

Hi Sparky,
I love this project - I have short legs and the stock toilet in our 2350 is quite high.
What's the part number on your new toilet? I've been looking on the web and can't
find any Thetford that looks like your picture... I hope you saved the box ;-)
Thanks!

tks,,,,,, couple of points I just went out measured the old toilet is is@13inches bottom to top, new toilet is the same. Part to the problem is the mounting stand that PC in the bathroom. ( you cant see the bottom of toilet sitting on the stand in the pics, in case your Rv is not around)I am not sure Thetford sales anything smaller. Call them or look on their web page and look at the specs.. If you use thetford, like I said you will not have to change the mounting ring. If you change mf's you will have to change the mounting ring, however I do not think that would be a big deal. It looks to me looking at the one on ours it is just screwed down on to the mounting stand not sure if changing the ring would affect the sewer connection I doubt it.
I guess you could take out the mounting stand which would definitely lower the bowl...might have to go RV place to have that done. then you could put in a high level toilet which would take you down about 4 inches.
the one we used is the Thetford note difference in hi/low profile about 4inches.

Anytime bet I can do it in under 30 minutes, especially if you get right size haha,,,, long service call from Iowa to Houston though, might be a little expensive

Hey Sparky,
I dislike Iowa winters a lot and I have spent a few winters down south so a drive to Houston is a cake walk with benefits! ;) Our toilet is fine the way it is but reading about your trials and tribulations while cleaning your sweat off the floor had me rolling laughing! I have been in your shoes trying to do a simple one or two hour task that turns into a three day event. Bahahaha! Open the box! Who would have thought. Too funny. Glad it all worked out for you.

Sparky,
Are you at liberty to tell us what three things you have in the works or are they to be looked forward to? I wonder, do other people that own other brands of RV's have as much interest in updating and changing their MH as the PC people seem to have? Just curious.

I previously owned a roadtrek ( we wanted something a little bigger) they have huge forum and people were always doing stuff to their RT's. they even had a separate forum for modifications. do not know about other RV's except of course ours... If you look at one of my blogs you can clik over to other blogs,, a bunch of people have already looked at some of the new projects I am working on,,, I have not posted them yet since I'm still fine tuning them, but they are basically finished.
