Title: Switches
Post by: lghjr on April 13, 2010, 06:59:46 pm
Upon entering the coach, door on the left there are three switches. Top switch is for the porch light, bottom switch is the house battery disconnect.  The middle one does something with the step motor but I am not sure what.

Are there any ideas as to what on and off control with the step motor?

Thank you for any help.

It is an on/off switch. If left in the off position, the step will open and close as you open and close the door. If left in the on position, the step will stay extended when you open and close the door unless you start the engine.

Keep it in the on position if you are going to be in and out of the coach.

Another feature of the switch is that if you leave the step extended when you start the engine, the step will retract. After that, the switch operates in the reverse (off is on). This feature prevents you from driving off with the step extended. To reverse the switch function again, start the engine with the door closed and step extended. Neat, huh....

Thanks to all, went and checked and that is exactly what I have.  Confusion stems from the similar switch that was on a HR I owned and it was not wired in this manner.
