Completed another of our many projects for the motorhome. When we ordered our 2551 we asked for two doors underneath the drivers side bed. After a year of use we needed another door to easily get to the corner storage. When we were at Phoenix the other day we got a matching door panel and completed the installation today. It looks nice and works great. The picture looks like the wood is a different color but that is only because of the lights. The door is a perfect match.

Very nice!
I had the same experience with cabinet door colors. My pictures show them different, but they really are a great match.

I concur with Ron--really nice! Every little bit of storage helps!

Someone who doesn't "RV" might say "Why the big deal over a little extra storage?" But it really is a big deal, especially when done right like Barry-Sue did here.

Excellent job!

Really a nice job Berry.
I was wondering why you chose to raise the door over dropping it. It seems like it would be easier to see into the cabinet if the door dropped. I am guessing it has something to do with the hinges and mounting them.
Either way it is a nice addition that I think Phoenix should make a standard. 2o2

There is a lot of force required to open and close the hinges. The upper portion of the opening was physically stronger and seemed to be able to handle this force better.

Barry,
Are the doors you had installed under the driver's side bed needed to get access to the storage area? Or does this just make it easier to get into a part of the area? I thought you gained access by lifting the mattress. Is there any storage area under the passenger side bed? Thanks!

The new door is for easier access. We had Phoenix put in two access door so we don't need to lift the mattress to access the storage area. We use the area in the corner next to the refrigerator to store water bottles and found it to be hard to access that area through the original doors we had installed. We now just lift the new access door and have very easy access to whatever is stored in the corner.
We found no usable storage under the passenger side bed.
