Title: 2400: some questions
Post by: snowman9000 on June 08, 2013, 09:55:40 am
Hello all,

In the 2400 floorplan, it would seem that when you use the stove or MW, you would be standing in the entry step well.  Yes, no?

In the tank capacities, with the E350 it shows 35 gray, 23 black.  But those are reversed in the Sprinter.  Is that correct?

Finally, does it seem that for two people, the TV would be better located on one side or the other instead of above the cab?  Has anyone relocated it?

I agree, the TV should be located to one side or the other or placed on a swivel.  I know that PC has located the TV to one side for others.  We chose to install our own TV and placed it on a swivel as shown below.

In the Sprinter, at least when we had the 2350 Sprinter, the tv is up higher than in the Fords, therefore it is much harder on the neck watching the tv--you were always looking way up and getting a stiff neck. It should be on a swivel for ease of viewing.

There were only two issues when we had the Sprinter: the rear corner bed and the tv!

We had the 2400 for a short while, and went back to the 2350 (went to 2400 sprinter from gas 2350, then to 2350 sprinter - yes, I know!!!!) anyway, yes you are standing in the door way/well. The tankage in the sprinter seems correct as you state, but I'd check with PC - the grey fills before the black. The tv is high, but doesn't present a problem in the 2350 for us as I use the euro chair, & DW lies on the sofa. We love the sprinter - 2350!!!

We love our 2400 on a Ford chassis. We don't have any issues with watching the TV where it is mounted. One of us sits on the couch and the other sits on one of the euro chairs. Also no issues using the stove or microwave. We always raise the counter extension which seems to keep us from falling into the entry way well. We just finished a 5 day dry camp that just about filled both tanks with two of us taking conservative showers daily and doing dishes twice a day. We did balance the gray into the black after day 3. On long trips I routinely balance the tanks to keep the black tank  relatively clean and fresh (?). We have been on the road for 4weeks so far and have driven over 8,000 miles. We have  3 more weeks  and 4,000 miles before we get home. The 2400  suits  our purposes perfectly. We chose the ford  chassis over the MB because we wanted the  4x4  option for travel on the  Alaska Highway during the shoulder seasons. Our gas mileage so far this trip has  average 9.4

I thought PCUSA made the 2100 and 2400 with flip up/down hinged stair well covers.  If not, I would think they'd accommodate such a request.
