The spare tire cover seems mounted correctly, but when I lock it the handle doesn't seem locked. Shouldn't the handle stay flat in the down position when locked? I can raise it up whether locked or not. Thanks for any help!

Mine will raise too. Try turning it when locked.

Had the same problem, found if you push hard on the center
while turning the handle an extra turn or two, it will stay tight.

The handle can be raised when locked, but it should not turn.

Yes....when locked the handle can flip up and down, but should not turn. We all like to store the handle in the down position because it looks right.
I also noticed with our spare tire lock set, it will lock in only one of the two handle positions. If the key won't turn, turn the handle another half-turn.
I really love the tire storage design. I never seen another motor home with a better setup. Easy to get to, well protected from elements and thieves, looks great, takes no valuable space, never in the way.....a true winner.

Thanks for the replies! I can't try my handle because my RV is at the Ford dealers for a fuel line leak. It's been there for over a week, but all parties (Ford, Lippert, and PC) are working on it. Just waiting for someone to solve the problem that the Ford guy has in getting the right parts that he thinks he needs.

Just got my PC back from Ford service and checked the handle. Thanks for the reply!
