Title: Positive locks on the cupboards
Post by: Chily on March 01, 2013, 05:10:26 pm
On our trip to the Mexican beach we had a lot of trouble with doors open on their own while driving down rough roads.
We modified all the critical doors with Sugatsune push and lock to close locks.

Funny you're showing this. I've been looking for just such a thing for the same reason(s).
Can you give me a link to the source and show a few photos of how they work on the inside?

Thanks.

Very interesting.  I, too, would be interested in more info and source.

Just looked at my extra locks. They are actually from Sugatsune PKL-08 GA. But I have also seen Nakamichi locks that not only lock on push but also turn to open when out.
Look them up on the internet.
The locks have an out side and inside part. You need to drill with a core saw for the outside part. Position it well so that the inside part hooks behind the wood frame. I had to do several cut outs into the frame to close and open correctly.
