Title: Norcold class-action lawsuit
Post by: lmichael on December 31, 2012, 05:41:41 pm
A class-action lawsuit has been filed against Norcold in CA and Fl claiming the company knew of fire risks from rv refrigerators.  According to the complaint, the fix Norcold came up with kills the refrigerator if the problem occurs-- requiring a new refrigerator--at your own expense if out of warranty.  Up till now, I thought the main problem with their refrigerators was the door hinges breaking.  The complete  complaint can be found at:

I've been involved with RVs for decades - and the preponderance of problems with RV refrigerators seems to be with Norcold. They scare me to the point of being a major negative when looking/shopping rigs. Dometic has problems too, but it sure seems to me that Norcold has an order of magnitude more than anyone else.
