Title: surround sound
Post by: ragoodsp on July 01, 2012, 09:32:57 pm
Before I call Kermit wanted to check if any of you folks can help me?  I can not get any sound out of the two middle speakers ( one in the kitchen area and the second by the dinette)  from the surround sound system in my new 3100.  DVD, CD, TV, nothing comes out...the two front speakers and the woofer work fine.  I know I got sound out of them at one time so something has come disconnected.  Any ideas would be appreciated...thanks

Try the dash radio.

Tom is right - the radio transmits through those speakers.

The chassis radio transmits sound from the two front door (Ford) speakers and the two larger white speakers in the bedroom area (front and rear).  I get no sound out of the two small speakers mid ship with chassis Ford)  radio.  My 2551 utilized the two front speakers (small ones) the two mid ship ones and the woofer, 5 speakers in total from the surrond sound system.  On the 3100 i am only getting sound out of 3 speakers, that can not be right can it?   Thanks

You mighty try different sound system settings on the surround sound amplifier.  I played around with it once and found that there were settings where sound did not come out of the rear speakers, just the front and sub-woofer.  I had to use the manual to figure it out as there were many settings to choose from, now I have forgot them all.  It had something to do with what sound environment you were trying to simulate, and what the source (DVD, CD) was capable of in terms of sound quality.

When I say "rear speakers" I am talking about the small black ones you described, not the two large white ones in the rear of the RV.

Bob:

I think you are on to something Bob since I was in there a couple of weeks ago messing with the settings and I bet I clicked something off.  Will go in to the settings tonight and see what I can find.  Thank you very much for your help.  Ron

Bob was right!  There are many custom  settings on the new surround sysytem and somehow (me for sure!) something had been clicked off.  There is test click that nicely runs thru all of the speakers so I new the speakers worked so then it was going thru and putting all settings back to normal.  thank you Bob for helping me out.  Ron

Ron,

Glad I could help, it is a complex system when you get into all the setup options.
