Sofa Table
« on: December 04, 2011, 10:57:15 am »
Just finished another project before our migration.  A sofa table for a quick lunch on the road or at the campsite or a side table when we are lounging in the evening.  Click on image for a larger picture.

OK, it looks better then whats being built now. You should not show to many of these beautiful projects, you're gonna start getting ORDERS!

Berry, very nice table. i was wondering if it would store behind the drivers sit and the slide when traveling? A friend gave us a small table and that is where we are storing it. Just have to remember to make sure the slide does not collect it when putting it out. These 2500 series ride so smooth that it has never even fallen over.

Tom

The table slides under the couch and is basically locked in place so I do not have to worry about it flying around if I stop fast.  It will also easily fit behind the drivers seat.

I really like that table idea for the slideout sofa people here.  We personally would not utilize it as we have the dinette, but I could see others would.

I LOVE IT! Great job and great idea. I need to get on the stick and post a pic of what I came up with for our 2950. Btw, I like yours better than mine!  :'(

Wow, really like the table.  Think I'll try to build one like it, but with hinges on the top to make it easier to store.  Would like to hear from those of you with the new PC that I have heard comes with the previous table top but with "spider" legs that don't need to have the holes in the floor.  Is that true?

When we had the 2008 2350 we did not have them put the holes in the floor but added our own legs from a personal table that we had.  Worked great.  With the new 2012 2551 we have the spider legs and they also work very nice (no holes in the floor).  I built this little table to be used as a place to hold our drinks, snacks or whatever when we do not have the larger table out.  While traveling we never get the larger table out so this should be handy to hold whatever while having lunch on the road.  We have one at home and use it all the time.

Barry,

Your sofa table was such a good idea that I decided to do the same.  It was a good way to use up some of the scrap in the shop.  Mine doesn't look as finely finished as yours but will do the job.  With the carpet on the floor, I had to trim 3/8" off the bottom of the drawer front so the table could slide under.  Thanks for the idea.

Bob,

Really nice job.  We think it is going to come in very handy--especially when eating lunch on the road.  Also a great place to keep drinks at night or remote controls.

Barry, I need help. Couple nights ago I fell asleep on the toilet and almost fell off. Could you build something that while sitting there I could reset my hands on and something for my forehead? OH yes by the way, I would need some kind support to push against the cabinets in front of this product so I would not fall foreword. This might be a bigger project then you wish to tackle or it might just be too expensive for me. If you do decide to do this and patent it I would not require any royalties. Please, if you have the time let me know your thoughts.   Most Respectfully,   Billy   ( 10 pounds lighter)

Billy,

Just buy an inflatable Skyrest.
You could then refer to your "Restroom" more accurately.
And you'll have accomodation for one additional overnight guest.
