I don't yet have pictures of this to share, but it's easy to imagine.

From the day we bought our 2350 in 2007, when driving on bumpy roads, we would get this strange banging noise in the area around the DVD player.  It drove me nuts, nuts, nuts with each vacation taken.  I had my wife look high and low, but we never could find the culprit until this past trip.

What is it?  The roof top antenna.

When we returned home this past week from a 3 week vacation, I got up there and added stick-on felt pads to the plastic antenna feet, the kind you use to slide chairs on wooden floors.  I also added pads on the edges of the wings.

ADDING LATER:  Since I added the pads, the banging is GONE.  The source of the banging was the crank-up antenna.

Ron, Have you checked the fold down counter/shelf next to the sink? Mine rattled and banged when I stopped quickly. I only have a half wide shelf due to a change in the heating ducts being put next to the shelf. A bungee cord around it has stopped the banging.

I had the same problems.
The antenna was the reason I had to onto the roof in very high winds in Wyoming (it bothered me that much). A few of those rubber stick-on pads fixed that and I bent the wings up a bit.
The shelf was fixed the same way.

Also, I put some long (1/2" X 3") stick-on felt pads between the window shades and frame, which helped a lot.

None of these measures are new to us and we had so many of those felt things all over the Alpine you'd think we owned the company that makes them.

I have a 2350, and I deduce most of my banging noise come from the stove top and the metal grill that sit around the burner. Before we go on a trip, I usually insert a towel under the metal grill so it will not be in contact with any metal. Also the two halves of corian top that go on the stove top and the sink, I put adhesive strapping tape over the edges to prevent it from bouncing around and that seems to reduce most of the noise when the RV goes over any bumps on the HWY.

Be really, really careful when driving with those Corian type covers in place.
Personal experience tells me that a panic stop will turn them into Guillotines.
They'll want to go forward and there's little other than flesh to stop them.

We store them under the mattress in the rear, along with the burner grills, to eliminate noise and provide safety.

Be careful out there folks, too many fools behind the wheel make safe driving a challenge.

My DW puts the counter tops down in the slot behind the stove top and stuffs a some old packing form rubber I had laying around in with them to slients them. Being down in the slot would seem like it would keep them from flying forward in a sudden stop. She puts a large beach towel over the stove's grill, which muffles most of the rattling. I will have to look at how hard it is to remove the grill each day and put it under the mattress. I wouldn't want her finding all the money I stuff under the mattress. We would never get out of the shopping mode.  roflol

I am still looking for the best way to stop any and all rattles. ;)

Tom,

You may want to start by duplicating a few of the things we did:
A.  Remove the grills (they have protrusions on the bottom that simply insert into holes - 2 per grill).
B.  Apply felt or rubber stick-on patches:
      1.   Behind the lower rail of the blinds and shades (which stops them from bumping metal to wall),
      2.   At all contact points of the counter extension (including the metal arms),
      3.   Between the cabinet doors and frame,
      4.   Between the back of the screen door and mounting frame.
      5.   At the sides between the upper metal part of the blinds and mounting frame.
      6.   On the antenna between any close points and roof.
C.  Do not place anything hard at the bottom of the cabinets or drawers.
D.  Wrap glass items in a paper towel before placing them in the drawers.
E.   Place a soft item between pots & pans, etc.
F.   Wiggle the vinyl-covered shelves over the Driver and Passenger seats. If they squeak, a little tightening could be in order (pry off the button to expose the screw head).

I'm really very bad with strange noises and drive Peg nuts with them. But she's been a good sport and has been quite successful chasing the noises I object to. Now, unless we are on a bad road surface, our rig is almost as quiet as our Edge and Mercury cars, which is saying something.

Regardless of the above, there will probably be noises that simply cannot be eliminated.

Thanks for the heads up on removing the Corian pieces from the stove and sink.  I'm good about securing everything down before traveling but I just didn't think about the "flying" Corian.  Now that is scarey.  I think I'm going to try Tom's suggestion and slide the Corian pieces into the slot with foam to snug them in.

As for the Corian Guillotines; I had to make a panic stop in our Alpine and the sink cover took off and hit the back of my seat. Hence my quick computer-like mind's decision to secure them where they can't become dangerous (we place then under the mattress behind the bulkhead until they're needed).

I doubt this is what you're hearing, but on our recent trip in a 2551 we would hear a real loud rattle on certain rough road surfaces.  Even though the door to the living area of our RV appeared to be tight and properly adjusted, you could actually see the bottom of it vibrating open as much as 1/2 inch or so.  Change road surface and it would stop entirely.  It did make a lot of noise.  I haven't had a chance to look at possible fixes for the condition.

I just went out to the motorhome to check the door screws. I did not find any broken screws but there were several that I could tighten. They were in the door frame to the body and the door handle/lock and latch. The screws in the door all were tight. Thanks for the tip. It could be embarrassing to have the door fall out going down the road. :lol

Being a mechanic for the first 20 years of my life I think a little different then most. My antenna on our first rig was chafing on the rubber poof. With rubber hose, more like a healthy vacuum hose, cut 2 pieces to fit both ends. Slice the hose, with a little glue type silicone, slip it over each end. It worked for me! It never "Bounced" as it lifted the ends up a little,     billy

Regarding the banging near the DVD/Radio area, there are wires running in the narrow space under this unit which lead forward to the front.  They are laying loose in this area and bounce up and down on rough roads.
