2015 2100 special, home in Florida

We made it home from Indiana and the PC is parked in it's spot in sunny (hot) Florida.  Roof shelter to be built for it in a few weeks. Finally unpacked and cleaned up. Inside photos to come.

Inside the 2100 Special (158" wheelbase instead of 138", so 20" longer between axles). The kitchen and bath are pretty much standard 2100, except for the addition of pantry (love it) between the refrigerator and the entrance door. I also chose the flat-floor shower instead of the tub shower.

2100 Special, entertainment area over the cab is also standard, but after that it's all customized.   No slide and nice deep overhead cabinets the full length of both sides of the living space. The passenger side has a twin bed with cushions to double as a couch.  A huge storage area underneath the bed with top and outside access.  The driver side has a nice wardrobe and...is it a dance hall? a yoga studio? more photos next week when "the rest of the story" gets built in.

Very impressive. That is sure looking good. 2o2
I better not let my dog see it or I will be talking to Phoenix about getting one also.  :-D

I like the way you had the shower knobs installed down low for washing the dogs.

Have you named your rig yet?

Hi AMW,  please comment how comfortable sofa/bed is for sitting and especially for sleeping, also its length and width.  Did you upgrade the foam?  Dual sofas in a short rv could be just what we need.  Thanks.

Carol, Mine is really just a twin bed mattress and I find it plenty comfortable for sleeping, but I'm light and used to very little cushion.  The bed is 30x74 (which is smaller than a standard twin), but I could have had it larger if I had wanted to use more space. The bolsters make it fine for a "couch" in a pinch to have seating for a few friends for a short time, but it's not a comfy "sink into" couch that you would spend the evening watching TV.  I tend to use it as a bed only and do my TV watching against pillows at the head so I can watch looking straight ahead and not to the side.  If you wanted a really comfortable couch that would pull out into a bed, Phoenix has better options for that...a jackknife sofa that opens up, perhaps.

Tom, I can't take credit for the position of the shower handles...I'm betting since that wall butts against the kitchen sink cabinet, that was the easiest position to bring the plumbing through.  It works fine for me, and I probably wouldn't dare wash one of my dogs inside...the amount of water and hair, ei-yi-yi.  :-D  No, my new PC doesn't have a name...never thought of that.  Might be a good topic for the Polls, what everyone names their PCs.

Thanks for the good wishes, everyone.

We are finally on our first competition trip in the new PC.  It took almost two weeks to build and install my dog bed crates and I have plenty of tweaks still planned.  We are using every inch, but everything is functioning beautifully.  At less than 23' with no slide, it still feels spacious and comfortable...and after a 12 hour day on our feet, it's all about hassle-free comfort.

No, the dogs do not live in the crates full time, but they are securely confined when I'm driving, for their meals, and other times when I can't directly supervise (can't afford to have them redecorate).

I still have to pinch myself as I sit here and look around me, that only a few months ago I sat in front of a piece of paper and drew my dream RV.  I could hardly believe it when Earl told me they could build it.  So far it has exceeded all my expectations.  As a bonus, the PC appears to be lucky as well...we won all five of our classes and finished a major Championship today.

Ann,

I see you built a platform for the crates, offering some large flat storage areas.  Nice practical touch there.  That has me wondering if you could have had the factory build a low profile cabinet-faced platform to match your couch-bed on the other side.  This way if you ever wanted to travel without the cages, you could toss a cushion/matress there for a second couch-bed.  Is there a reason why it would be a bad idea to have such a platform made taller to create additional storage?

Just the gears turning inside my head.

I think you did a very nice job and the dogs look very content.
Ron, look at picture two and the controls and windows. If the platform were to be higher she could not get to the windows to open them. This lady sure is thinking this out before she does anything. 2o2

Beautiful! Congrats on the competition and the successful house design. I hope you got business cards from Phoenix to make your life easier when all those competitors see your new show coach and want one for themselves.

Congrats all around--to Ann, the doggies, and the PC crew!  And thanks for taking the time to post the pictures, Ann.  I love pouring over that stuff.
